SickKids VS Campaign “Join Your Crew” TFC edition ft. RPB

Jozy Altidore and Red Patch Boys members feature in SickKids VS hospital foundation campaign

Hey, that’s our crew!

We recently had the honour of featuring in an ad campaign for the SickKids Hospital Foundation. Yep, that’s a bunch of RPB pictured and you may recognize the big man up front, Jozy Altidore. This is part of a large fundraising campaign SickKids is running, “SickKids VS Limits” which has been asking different community groups from all around city to participate to represent the broad interests and culture across the city getting behind the hospital foundation’s good work and drive to build a new SickKids.

You can donate and ‘join a crew’ as part of it now! Go to and donating will give you a chance to select THE REDS crew to be a part of! Worthwhile and nice to be involved representing and promoting the game and city we love out in the community.

Grateful for support Jozy Altidore has given to SickKids over the years. Today, he’s stepping up to rally Reds fans to come together & raise funds to build a new SickKids. Donate to join Jozy & the Reds crew at

Keep Calm and Banner On – behind-the-scenes tifo making of

Adding to the noise and singing in the stands you’ll usually see banners, flags and other signs in the south end of BMO Field. It’s what supporters do – signalling our support to the team and fans alike. Their creation always has to start with some inspiration which can come from the team on the pitch, the supporter culture around us, current events and sometimes current opponents.

For this one, we had been looking for awhile for something to inspire in a year with seemingly more downs than ups – and then it hit us. A fresh Canadian Championship success was enough to give us a ‘lightbulb’ moment and also provided a positive sentiment we needed. Working with other supporter groups Kings In The North & U-Sector we went for something simple that was an effective message for the team and for the supporters in the stands on both sides for an upcoming match against derby rivals Montreal.

It’s always good to get together and produce something that’s a creative expression of our shared passion for the team. So for an afternoon we got to work with material, painting supplies and some beers (during and after) and the result were some banners ready to add to our atmosphere on match day. If this looks like fun to you, become a member and look out for project announcements as they happen!

Here’s some behind the scenes pics and the final product up at BMO with the message for all, Keep Calm and Trophy On.

RPB & Terry Fox Foundation Helping Fund Cancer Research

For many Canadians the fight against cancer goes on and so our tradition here at Red Patch Boys of working with the Terry Fox Foundation continues again this year. Since the group started contributions have been made to the foundation which helps raise funds for cancer research. Participation has included everything from annual Terry Fox Run teams and headshave events to fundraiser raffles. Supporting the team this year running we got involved by raising funds leading up to the run and raffled off some swag at Shoeless Joe’s before a match for good measure. This year’s campaign ended up with a donation just over $1200 (fitting for our 12th season) and that means over the years RPB members, friends & family have donated over $27000 to the Foundation! Thanks all for helping the cause.

TFC Supporters Charity 5v5 Soccer Tournament

Red Patch Boys Charity Soccer Tournament

The TFC Supporters Charity 5v5 Soccer Tournament took place on sunny afternoon Saturday June 16th at 3:00 PM at the TFC (KIA) Training Ground in Downsview Park. Finals took place at 7:00 PM. Red Patch Boys entered a solid squad of footy-capable members with varying skill levels. Friends, members and family also came to hang out and cheer on our squad for the day. Staying hydrated and taking on a “defense-first” strategy led us to victory.

Congrats to U-Sector 1 for winning the tournament.

Thanks again to all who participated, organized and supported TFC Supporters.

Here are a few comments from our squad:

“We had fun. We were short on bodies as expected but the squad did well to hustle it out! Overall, we are satisfied!”

“Great event on Saturday – enjoyed playing with my fellow RPB – I hope they do it again next year.”

RPB’s First Tailgate BBQ in 2018

Went off with a slight hitch…

Featured Menu:
Supporters Shield Pulled Chicken Sandwiches
MLS Cup Champion Tacos
Glen M’s Ribs!!
Burgers & Hot dogs (vegetarian available)
Water & Pop

You heard it right. The RPB Tailgate Team was back at it with some sweet eats to match the sweet taste of success as reigning MLS Champs! Everyone was welcome to attend. The event took place on Saturday, April 28th before the match against Chicago Fire from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

This event went off according to plan thanks to a ton of work behind scenes (except for some cooperation with the weather). Volunteers on the RPB Tailgate Team prepped and setup with a generally good attitude which was much appreciated. The weather cursed us longer than expected, but thanks to those that came to hang out, eat some food and stay warm under tents (then not under tents), then over grills, and then by basically munching and talking about the team, the week and more together.

Shout outs also to members of the RPB Banner Team that got a banner project ready to go but weather postponed the added fun.

We cannot say enough of all the help from our Supporters. Looking forward to it working out better at the next event! Thanks for keeping the faith all – Tailgate Til I Die!
