PASSION. PURPOSE. PRIDE.

BECOME A RED PATCH BOYS MEMBER

The Red Patch Boys are an incorporated not-for-profit entity. We’re named in honour of a unit from the Canadian military, the Red Patch Devils, who participated in the liberation of Europe. Our flag is a tribute to the unit flag.

Being a member of the Red Patch Boys starts with supporting the cause. Your membership also gives you a variety of ways to SHOW YOUR SUPPORT and be part of the PURPOSE driving RPB (now in Season 17!).
Share PASSION with those around you by GETTING INVOLVED, taking PRIDE in the team and game we love and promoting its growth. Benefits include those listed in image above and more!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What does my membership fee get me?

A: A 2024 season membership with Red Patch Boys. You will also have access to member-only threads on our forum, first access to RPB and TFC Supporter events as well as access to purchase RPB merchandise and participate in various RPB-related activities, groups and teams throughout the season. See RPB news posts for past events.

The money we receive from membership dues is put right back into the group. We use the money to pay for supplies for banners and the overhead “Tifos” that you have seen in the past. We also use the money for upkeep of the drums and flags featured at any match day, maintaining the online forum and website, as well as supporting other Red Patch Boys activities.

Q: How do I become a member?

A: You can start the process by sending an email to the membership team. The Membership Team will be in contact with you to better understand your intentions with the group, how you anticipate contributing and supporting RPB during the season and how to go about finalizing your membership (instructions found at the top of this page).

Q: How can I pay for my membership?

A: Our preferred manner of payment is by Electronic Money Transfer (EMT), basically Interac through your bank account. Most banks support this kind of transaction, although they may have a small charge for doing it. Another easy method is to pay in cash at a Red Patch Boys event or at a match (pending). Most weekend home matches will have a membership table set up at the communicated pub choice for the match. Away matches, keep an eye out for RPB invitations on social media. For people outside of Canada, other options will be available, upon request.

Q: Do you have to be in Toronto, or can you join if you live outside Toronto, in other parts of the country or in other countries?

A: No. We have Chapters set up in various towns and cities across the GTA and soon. One of our Chapters is established for members who live more than 75 miles from Toronto. You can arrange membership with your local Chapter. There is one in Kitchener/Waterloo, the KW Company, for example. We have members all across Canada, in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Q: Is there a minimum age?

A: There is no minimum age, however, some of our chants, songs and some material on our message board may need a little adult accompaniment. This is a football supporters group, after all. There is no “junior” membership today, but we encourage parents/guardians to bring their children into the group. For a number of years, RPB has been able to offer its members the chance for their children to accompany players onto the field as a pre-match escort and work the sidelines as ‘ball kids’. (see 2019 RPB News Post)

Q: Do members have to be on the message board?

A: We strongly encourage it, but recognize that sometimes it is not possible. There is a lot of worthwhile information and discussions on the boards – it is our primary communication method! But you can follow us on Twitter, Instagram or our members-only Facebook group as well.

Q: Do you have to have season’s tickets to be a member?

A: No, you do not have to have tickets, just a passion for TFC. Support comes in many forms – working on one of the RPB teams, attending RPB events, or just cheering for your team at a local bar or pub with other supporters!

Q: Can you get TFC tickets through Red Patch Boys?

A: More recently, members have been able to gain access to seats in sections designated to RPB (subject to availability). More generally though, many of our members have tickets available from time to time – just like any other tickets and sometimes the owner just cannot attend a match. For that, we have a member-only ticket trader thread and rules about how tickets can be transferred to other members. We often have spare tickets floating around at pre-match events, too. But must be sold at face value. Making a profit off tickets sold to other members is strictly prohibited!

Q: Do I have to participate on an RPB Team?

A: Participation is strongly encouraged. We would like members to help out when they can. Our banners, one of the most visible indicators of support, need members to design, draw out and paint in order to make the banner a reality. Songwriters can help out by creating new chants and songs for the group at matches. Everyone can make noise for the team at matches, whether singing or clapping or more! Members can also help out at social or charity events where RPB is involved including tailgates and soccer tournaments. Everyone has skills to contribute and we would like to give you the chance to make the best of yours!
